One Size Fits All?

October 1, 2017

Have you ever thought to yourself, ' I can never do as well as so and so?' On one occasion or another we may have compared our lives to a friends, family, or maybe even people we don't even know. We live in a society that tells us when we should be marry, work, and etc. Does God really work that way?

Romans 12:6
We have different gifts , according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith. If it is serving, then serve, if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement, give, then give generously, if it is to if it is to lead, do it diligently, if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

Romans 12:6 tells us that we all have different gifts. Your gift may not be the same as mine and vice versa. When God created us and gave us special gifts they weren't made one size fits all. God wants all of us to help build his kingdom up. Just like the construction of a new home the plumber and the electrician have special skills to do their job. Although different they are joined together for one purpose, a complete home. So you may not sing as well as Sister Betty, but you can make a mean sweet potato pudding. Let's stop trying to fit into what another person's gift box. God has blessed you with gifts may not even uncovered yet. Work your faith and trust him. Remember bigger packages don't always mean better.
